Our Story
Crust King was born when I wanted to find a way to create better Gluten Free pizza for my wife diagnosed with Coeliac disease (autoimmune response to Gluten).
Those who have tried a Gluten Free pizza know that they're a far cry from the wheat-containing alternative. Often thin and incredibly hard - not to mention that they always come smaller as well.
Some restaurants are okay at making Gluten Free pizzas, but often they still use pre-made bases that they get delivered from a supplier, so are never truly fresh.
The first part of the solution is a great Gluten Free Pizza Dough recipe, which you can find here. It's really not too challenging to make, and if you try it, we guarantee you'll be left questioning whether it's truly a Gluten Free recipe - it's that good!
The second part, is the Crust King Baking Steel. If you've ever made a homemade pizza before, Gluten or non-Gluten, no matter how good your dough is, if you don't cook it in the right environment it will always come out disappointing. The Crust King Baking Steel fixes that, by mimicking the environment found in traditional pizza ovens, transferring more heat into your dough, ensuring a crisp exterior and a rise that leaves the interior soft and fluffy.
The home pizza-oven market is expanding rapidly, as people are trying to cook more and more at home. Pizza ovens, whilst delivering excellent results, are often large and need to be used outside - which isn't so great in the winter, and not to mention they can be very expensive.
